- Legendary singer/songwriter Paul Collins formed The Nerves in 1974 with Jack Lee and Peter Case. In 1977, Paul Collins formed The Beat under the supervision of Bill Graham Management and Collins' longtime friend Eddie Money. Paul Collins disbanded The Beat in 1989 to pursue a solo career recording a series of albums with all-star lineups including Chris Isaak's band. During the late 1990s, with encouragement from longtime friend Dee Dee Ramone of The Ramones, Paul Collins re-formed The Beat as Paul Collins Beat. They continue to tour and record new material. Paul Collins Beat tour the U.S., Canada, Brazil and throughout Europe in support of their new albums in addition to the classic material.
