Promoters Ticketmaster and LiveNation announced a $6 billion merger last week. This spells disaster for concert-goers. As if these two ticket-scalping giants weren't inflating ticket prices enough, at least they were competing with each other. Now, lack of competition will, as always, result in a monopoly. This new scalping giant will continue the recent inflation of ticket prices to logarithmic proportions.
